Celebrities kick off Goals 4 GOSH warm-up

A star-studded charity football match is set to kick off at Eastbourne Borough FC on Sunday 13 April, raising vital funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) Children’s Charity.

Organised by Charlotte Styles and Jamie Groves, Regional Development Director at Funeral Partners, the annual Goals 4 GOSH events have raised over £160,000 since their launch in summer 2021.

As a senior leadership figure, Jamie Groves plays a pivotal role in guiding the growth and development of Funeral Partners’ network of funeral homes within London South and South East England. His work supports not only the strategic expansion of services but also key community initiatives like Goals 4 GOSH, which combines sport and fundraising in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital. Last year alone, they raised an impressive £47,000 to directly support the hospital’s vital work with children and their families.

The warm-up match at Eastbourne Borough FC – Goals 4 GOSH vs Inter Legends – promises an exciting afternoon featuring celebrities from sport, TV, and entertainment.

Confirmed players include former Love Islander Ron Hall, actors Jamie Kenna and Tamer Hassan, ex-England Lioness Gemma Davison, former Liverpool star Jordan Ibe, ex-Newcastle and Aston Villa defender Ciaran Clark, and Shaun Wallace, known as “The Dark Destroyer” from ITV’s The Chase.

Jamie said: “We’re extremely grateful to Funeral Partners, the UK’s third largest funeral services provider, for their continued support as our principal sponsor for the fifth consecutive year, and I personally appreciate all the support, funding and the flexibility they’ve given me to organise these events.

“Plus, a big thanks to all my branch teams and colleagues who have contributed to making this such a successful fundraising event.”

He continued: “Special thanks also go to Connect Management and Eastbourne Borough FC for hosting the match. We can’t wait to deliver another unforgettable day of football, fun and fundraising.”
