Delighted to leave an honest and positive review. My stepfather died down in Exeter so he was transported back to Leeds for the funeral. From start to finish, the experience was positive, professional and dignified. The funeral itself was just as we requested. Thanks to all, especially Helen, Clair and Dee. I couldn't fault Mercers with the care they showed mum and our family at such a difficult time. Molly and the team took great care of mum and the family throughout the process; and on the day Laura was wonderful stand in for Molly who was on holiday, and she did a great job, very caring and helpful. Also the drivers were so lovely and caring too. Mercers have always looked after our families funerals in the past, my only comment would be that looking back at my dads funeral bill back in 2014 you offered more services, like you dealt with the headstone, and I think putting it in the newspaper etc and now don't seem do that kind of thing anymore which is a shame. Otherwise very happy.

I cannot thank Douglas Mercer & Son enough for how they were for my Mum's funeral, from the very first meeting with them right through to the day of the funeral, they were all amazing. A special thank you to Molly, only because she was who looked after us mainly. But everyone was simply amazing and nothing was too much trouble. My Mum's funeral was a colourful one (mainly pink) and everyone at Douglas Mercer & Son got involved too and ordered themselves pink ties. Such a lovely touch. I honestly can't speak highly enough of everyone at Douglas Mercer & Son. Thank you all so very much.

All my family and I would like to highly recommend the services of Molly at Douglas Mercer and Son.
My Dad was fortunate to live a very long life, and we were keen to have a celebration of that life in the way that he would have enjoyed if he was with us. Yes that included a horse drawn carriage, a light hearted ceremony and an endless supply of tea at the wake.
Molly worked her magic to make this all happen seamlessly. She coordinated horses, flowers, the celebrant, the music and images for the service and the attendees. On the day of the ceremony, Molly was in attendance throughout,thoughtfully giving suggestions and support to keep us to time and where we were meant to be.
I know that when we look back on this day in years to come, we will only have the best memories.

Douglas Mercer were helpful to me & my family.
My Sister I felt was looked after very well at their premises.
And I felt assured that that she was treated with respect.
Staff were always accommodating to our needs.
My sister had a direct cremation and now that it's over i'm not sure how I feel about direct cremation !
It is what she wanted but to me it' still feels like it didn't happen no funeral.
But i'm grieving and emotions are all over the place.
I've lost my best friend and sister ❤️ Thank you to all the staff and to Molly and all the team at Douglas Mercer

Thankyou to everyone involved in my husbands funeral especially Nick, everyone was so caring and kind and made things go so smoothly. Would definitely recommend them to family, friends and colleagues in the future, thanks again for the care and attention.

I would like to thank Douglas Mercer & Son for the compassion, empathy and professionalism they showed towards all our family during such a heartbreaking time. We have trusted them with both of our parents' funeral arrangements and cannot recommend them highly enough. Molly has been amazing, caring and understanding to our needs and that of our family. She has supported us through this difficult time and has guided us in making our mum's final time as loving as possible. Henk was also so caring during one of our visits and his professionalism was evident.
